Contra Costa Association of Realtors

Founded in 1921 to support the real estate community,
the Contra Costa Association of Realtors (CCAR)
provides a wealth of information, tools, and expertise.
Its Realtor members, affiliate members, and home buyers
and sellers benefit from CCAR’s weekly continuing
education classes and seminars. On another note,
the Santa Cruz Local Event is asking for your support also.

The goal of the CCAR is to provide quality service to
its members. CCAR demonstrates that same commitment
to quality with regard to the environment and
our natural resources. Recently, they retrofitted their
two story office building in Walnut Creek, including
water efficient fixtures in the process. They replaced
3.5 gallons per flush (gpf) toilets with 1.6 gpf models
and installed a water efficient drip irrigation system.
Given CCAR’s 22 employees, numerous daily visitors,
weekly seminars, and additional businesses on the first
floor, and contrast this with their water use of 336 gallons
per day, it adds up to a prime example of what can
be done to conserve water. A business that has not put
in place water conservation measures would easily use
double what CCAR uses.

CCAR’s fixture upgrades and other changes have
resulted in a reduction in daily water usage and cost
savings for the organization which will also help the
bottom line.

CCAR’s efforts showcase how good water management
can translate into big savings that improve the bottom
line and protect the environment. EBMUD congratulates
CCAR on achieving their WaterSmart Certification.
WaterSmart — good for business; good for the
environment.
